What I'm Wednesday: What I'm Working on in Our House~

I mentioned a while back that I am working on an entry hall update.  And then I dropped the subject.   Now I realize that you are all probably NOT sitting on pins and needles waiting for a big reveal.  BUT, I wanted to share a few sneak peeks with you today anyway...

I'm actually really excited about the transformation taking place in the entry.  And here is one of the reasons why...

Can you tell what it is?  Well, actually there are a pair of them.  And they are beautiful!!

Terrific Homes Tuesday: A Design Project~

You may recall a couple of weeks ago, that I announced my plan for a new series on the blog called Terrific Homes Tuesday.  Well, I got a wonderful response!  But I'm still in the middle of organizing the series, so for today, I thought I'd share the under-construction home that I am going to help decorate for some friends of mine.

I shared this photo of the home's exterior on Instagram a few days ago.  If you'd like sneak peeks of behind the scenes happenings at The Shabby Nest, follow me there.

I stopped by the house recently to help make a decision regarding wall texture, and I was able to snap a few photos of some of the fun features that this house will have.

"What I'm..." Wednesday~

I had a fun idea...

I thought it would be a blast to share a little bit about myself on Wednesdays.  I'm going to call them "What I'm.." Wednesdays.  I'll be sharing things like "What I'm Wearing",  "What I'm Loving",  "What I'm Reading", "What I'm Working On" and so forth.

Today I decided to share "What I'm Loving" right now.  I want to preface this post by saying that it is not compensated.  It is just me sharing with you some of the fun products I'm crushing on at the moment.

So off we go...

First up, I'm LOVING these Sally Hansen finger nail polish strips.

I'm currently sporting these cute "kitty kitty" leopard print nails.  They are a lot of fun!  I've had them on for 7 days so far, and I haven't had to replace them!  That's a record for me.  Seriously.

SNAP Recap and The Blessings of Blogging~

As I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you all in my recap of this year's SNAP Conference, my mind wandered back through all the great times I had and informative classes I attended at this year's conference.

I learned a lot about many different aspects of the world of blogging from SEO to Pinterest to Instagram to How to throw a Fabulous Party.

I enjoyed great food, got fabulous swag, and enjoyed an amazing glow-in-the-dark-themed closing party.

And although all of these things were wonderful...the best part of the conference was getting to spend time with my amazing friends.

Terrific Homes Tuesday~

Back in the early days of my blog, I did a series of posts where I shared the homes of some of my friends and family.  It was a lot of fun to share the decorating ideas of others.

Which got me to thinking.  I'd love to do a series like that again.  Only this time, I thought it would be fun to share the wonderful decorating ideas of my readers!  I'm going to call the series "Terrific Homes Tuesday".    I'm hoping to make it a weekly series, but it's going to take YOU, my lovely readers, to help this series happen.

How I Made My Own Business Cards~

SNAP! is coming up next week.   I just love blog conferences!!  And one of my favorite parts about attending a blog conference is getting to meet and network with fellow bloggers.  One of the most important parts of networking is having a business card that reflects the look and feel of your blog.  It's how you introduce yourself, and having it look just right is key.  It's call branding, y'all.  ;-)

So, I have been thinking about the fact that I really didn't like the business cards I had at last year's conferences.  But I had a LOT of them left, and I couldn't justify to myself the expense of purchasing more when I had a perfectly good set of cards.

Design Consultations~

I am happy to announce that I will be offering E-Design services again.  I have been on hiatus for the past few months, but I have really missed doing design consultations for my readers, so I decided it was high time I started offering them again.

I am one of those people who is lucky enough to do what I love every single day.  I work as an interior designer for a home builder here in Utah.  It is a great job!  I get to use my design skills every day to help people pick finishes for their new homes.

Heart Rocks and Wishing Stones~

My youngest likes to collect rocks.

Perhaps you recall seeing this little jar of stones that sits in our kitchen.

He routinely brings home new rocks to add to his ever-growing collection.  His criteria is simple: they need to be "cool".
