For this week's Frugal Round-Up I've got some fun posts to share...

Hello Lovelies~

Today, I'm super excited to tell you all about one of the new adventures I hinted at in my previous post!

But first, let me start by asking you if you've heard of The Design Network?

The Design Network is this amazing website dedicated entirely to Interior Design.  (Something I can really get into...Lol!)  It has all kinds of cool stuff...from web series to photos to channels.

Well that's what I want to tell you all about today!

Frugal Friday~

Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Friday!

The 24th of July is Pioneer Day here in Utah, so I've been celebrating with family!  But I did have time to go through last week's fabulous posts and I have a few great ones to share for this week's Frugal Round-up!

First, I simply had to share this lovely gold, navy and pink nursery linked up by A Little of This, A Little of That.  I think I have a crush on that wallpaper.  Seriously.

Hello Lovelies!

I feel like I've been missing in action from my blog and it makes me a bit sad.  But the reasons behind my seeming disappearance are all very exciting! So today I thought I'd give you a bit of an update on all of my comings and goings.

Everything is pretty much equally exciting...so in no particular order...

1.  I started a new job!  I now work as an interior designer for Ivory Homes, Utah's largest home builder. It's the same type of thing I was doing at my previous job...and something I really love: helping new home buyers choose all of the finishes for their houses.

2.  I'm buying a house!  Yep!  I hesitated to say anything until I had closed on it...but closing should happen in the next week or so.  I'll share all the details then!

3.  I got the final proof of my book this past week!  It was thrilling to be able to go through the final version and see exactly what it's going to look like!! I absolutely can't wait to share it with all of you.  October can't come soon enough!

4.  I've joined forces with The Design Network for a fun project that I'm crazy excited to share and which is coming up very soon.

5. And you see that pretty horse up there?  I pinned this image several weeks ago.  Little did  I know, my very talented sister would paint it for me for my birthday!   Really.  She did.  I'll be sharing that painting with you soon as well.

So with all of that in the pipeline, there's a lot to share coming up here on the blog.  Thanks for being patient with me and sticking around through this crazy last year and a half.  My life has been changing all over the place and even though there has been some sad and bad stuff...there's been a lot of amazing blessings and opportunities as well.

As the Reverend Mother says in The Sound of Music "When God closes a door, somewhere he opens a window."  It's true.  And right now, I have a lot of windows opening in my life!

Lots going on in my world this week...not the least of which is a visit from my sister!  Since I'm busy spending quality sister-time with her...my Frugal Round-up is going to be short and sweet today.  I just had to share this really fun living room tour linked up by Love Grows Wild.   Such cute details!  (Love the pendants above the TV)!

Welcome to this week's edition of Frugal Friday!

It's been a hot one here in the Mountain West this week.  I don't know about you, but I need a vacation. Preferably at a beach.

Speaking of vacations, my first feature for this week's Frugal Round-up is this darling updated guest room shared by The Heathered Nest.  I'm absolutely smitten with the reclaimed wood ceiling!

Make Summer Dinners Special with Pretty Place Settings~

Summer evenings are my favorite.  It stays light later.  No one is scrambling to get homework done.  They're quiet and leisurely.  I enjoy making dinner for my family in the summer.  (And that is really saying something.)

So why not take the time to make dinner more an event by using pretty place settings instead of dragging out the same old dinnerware night after night?

Today I wanted to share a couple of easy place setting ideas with you.  First up, bright and cheerful.  This type of mismatched place setting is really easy to achieve and helps to make any meal feel festive.  The more color and pattern the better.  ( I just make sure to set it off with my everyday white to keep it looking purposeful.)

A Vignette in Pink: My Mini Home Office~

My mini home office is in my master bedroom.  The other morning I woke up and really "noticed" it.  As I was studying it, I was caught by the composition of the little space.  When I was putting the space together, I didn't intentionally go out and buy/find accessories for it.  Rather, I shopped the house and gathered things that I loved and that inspired me.

What I noticed, made me smile.  Without intentionally doing so, I had created a vignette that looked very well thought out and on purpose.  It kind of made me smile.  All these years of decorating and design, and I have internalized it to a point where I can literally create something without thinking too much about it.
